

I think it’s actually more environmentally friendly than plastic packaging and it’s definitely sturdy. Okay so I personally don’t necessarily have a problem with the packaging, but I have a feeling that some of you might not like the fact that this $40.00 palette comes in a cardboard packaging.

the highlight shade is very pretty not overly glittery or chunky (definitely not a very intense highlight, but I love it)

this palette comes with a little booklet and instructions on how to contour your face, nose, chest, etc. the powders are buildable (won’t look muddy when layered) the powders are creamy, not chalky and actually pretty long-lasting the packaging has a mirror which makes this travel-friendly (although I wish the mirror was slightly bigger) the palette has a matte highlight shade which I love this palette is so nice for a natural contour. Having fair skin, it’s often a little difficult to find contouring or bronzing shades that work well with my skin. Both powders are creamy and smooth, especially the contour, and blend exceptionally on the skin - even the lightest hand still gives colour - look out for swatches, more snaps and try ons on my Instagram.You know that when it comes to contour, I always prefer a more subtle and delicate look. This isn't one for those who like a highlight 'on fleek', and doesn't show up particularly well in photographs but has that soft-focus, candlelit glow that looks exquisite in person. The highlight is equally as beautiful in my eyes, far more subtle than say the Laura Mercier Face Illuminators or MaryLoumanizer, but exactly what I look for - a soft, flattering champagne, richly pigmented but not overdone, and giving an ethereal luminosity to the skin. It looks incredibly fair in the pan but has a surprising amount of colour. The contour shade inside is a lovely, cool but flattering brown - the perfect shade for my NC 20-25 skin, to resemble natural, completely indetectable shadow.

Encased in the beautiful gold packaging we've come to expect of YSL, the compact is nice and slimline, and sized just like all of their other face-product cases.
